Winter 2019 Children's Yoga

A playful spin on a traditional practice, kids yoga helps multiple areas of development.

  • Motor skills -through yoga asana (poses), children practice balance, build strength, increase flexibility, and learn spatial awareness through body movement.

  • Social skills -  in the group setting, children often partner up for poses, play games involving interacting with peers, and learn about teamwork.

  • Breathing - each week the children learn about breath and how different breathing can either energize or relax the body.

  • Creativity - some weeks the children have an opportunity to express themselves through an art activity that ties into the week's lesson.
